Jack Opiola brings more than 36 years of experience in transportation and business planning. He was appointed to his position with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for his expertise in revenue generation and sustainable transportation strategies, and has led national and international efforts in road pricing, strategic studies, technology research, electronic road pricing, travel demand management, and toll and revenue systems.

Since 2003, he has helped pioneer the transition from fuel taxes to distance-based user charges, serving as a key policy and project consultant to governments across the world.
