Tory Damantoro is Chairperson of the Indonesia Transportation Society (MTI), a non-profit organisation for transport professional, established in 1995. MTI serves as a key partner to the government in formulating policy especially in sustainable transport. For over 25 years, as professional, Tory has contributed to innovative policy development in the transport sector particularly in transport energy, environment impact, accessibility, and inclusivity. In regard to road payment, Tory established MTI policy forums for transport digitalisation, that actively advocate policy reform on transport payment collection system, of which positioning MTI as a main partner in transport payment regulations. He also holds the position of 2nd Vice President of the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS), a leading body for transport scholars, academics, and practitioners that was established to foster and support excellence in transportation research and practice and to stimulate professional interchange in all aspects and modes of transportation. MTI will host EASTS 16th international Conference in September 2025 gathering 800 transport scholars from 19 member countries.
